Training Team



In the Training Department, the Head of Training is assisted by the Chief Flight Instructor and Chief Ground Instructor who superintend over the flight and ground instructors respectively. The department is saddled with all the training activities of the School such as ground academics, simulator and flight training as well as staff recurrent training. Essentially, all the instructors are required to possess appropriate NCAA licences and ratings.

Wing Commander DE Laha
Wing Commander Dooyum Edward-Allan Laha is the Rector of the IHFS. He is a seasoned maintenance engineer/ground instructor/flight instructor/combat helicopter pilot in the Nigerian Air Force. He holds a B. Eng Mechanical Engineering (First Class Honours) and is a certified maintenance engineer on the C-130H-30 aircraft and the Robison 66 helicopter.

He is a holder of NCAA CPL CFI CFII as well as B.Sc (Hons) in Chemistry, MSc Inorganic Chemistry, MSc Strategic Studies, and graduate United States Air War College. He has flown several aircraft types including ABT- 18, Alpha Jet, TB 9, TB -20, Mi 34C, R 44, R 66, Bell 206, Bell 429, Agusta 109 and Mi 35 Attack helicopter. His wealth of experience in other spheres of aviation covers Flight, Safety, Crew Resource Management and Aviation Psychology.

Air Commodore Ayo Jolasinmi
Group Captain Ayoola Olasupo Jolasinmi is a very experienced Flight Instructor. He holds a Masters degree in Strategic Studies from Bangladesh University of Professionals in 2014. Some of the flight training he has undergone includes Flight Instructor's Course at 305 Flying Training School NAF Enugu in 2003, Flight Instructor's Course at Bassair Aviation Pretoria South Africa in 2006 and Instrument Rating at the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology, Zaria in 2009.

He has the following Licences and Ratings: NCAA ATPL (Helicopter), Flight Instructor FAA ATPL (Rotorcraft). He has flown the following aircrafts amongst others: Airbeetle 18, TB-9, TB-20, Mi-34S Helicopter, Robinson 44, Robinson 66 and Agusta 109.

 
Wing Commander Fauziyyu Sani Maaji
Wing Commander Fauziyyu Sani Maaji is a Flight Instructor/combat helicopter pilot in the Nigerian Air Force. He is a holder of NCAA and FAA (CPL) Licenses. He also has a M.Sc in Military Operational Arts and Science, M. Sc in Electronic and Telecommunication plus a B.

He holds a South African CAA CPL (H), a NCAA and US FAA CPL (Rotorcraft) with instrument and night ratings as well as CFI/CFII ratings. He has flown several aircraft types some of which include the ABT-18, Cessna 172, TB-9, TB-20, R22, R44, R66 Alouette II, Schweizer 300CBi, Agusta 109 and the dreaded Mi - 24/35 attack helicopter.

Wing Commander AA Komolafe
Wing Commander Adedoyin Komolafe is the Safety Manager at the IHFS. He is an experienced helicopter flight instructor in the Nigerian Air Force. He holds an NCAA CPL with instrument rating. He also holds a Bachelors of Engineering Degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering, Masters of Military Operational Arts and Science

from the United States Air Command and Staff College as well as a Masters of Science in Engineering Management (in view). The CFI has flown several aircraft types including ABT - 18, TB 9, TB -20, C-172, R22, R44, R66, Bell 429, Agusta 109 and Mi 35 Attack helicopter.

Squadron Leader Erumiseli Dania Okolo
Squadron Leader Erumiseli Dania Okolo is the Chief Ground Instructor and also doubles as the Operations Manager and Radiotelephony Instructor. He is an Air Traffic Controller with the Nigeria Air Force and has served in several airports. Currently, he is the Airport Commandant at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

Furthermore, he has attended a Crew Resource Management course and the Air Traffic Management and Air Laws Advance course at Air Force Academy India. His affiliations are not restricted to a military context as he is also a licensed civil Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO).

Flight Lieutenant Unyimeobong Okon Udoeyop
Flight Lieutenant Unyimeobong Udoeyop, an officer of the Nigerian air force is a flight instructor. He is the School's Chief Flight Instructor (CFI). He is a graduate of Briston Academy and holds NCAA flight instructor and USA FAA CFI CFII with B.Engr. Elect/Elect. He has flown Schweizer 300 CBI, Robinson 66, Bell 206B and Agusta 109LUH.
Flight Lieutenant Olusola Temitope Adeniyi
Shola is the Training Coordinator of the IHFS and a graduate of Bristow Academy New Iberia, LA USA. He has a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and holds an NCAA and US FAA CPL (H) Licenses with Instrument Rating as well as CFI/CFII Ratings. In the course of his career as an Air Force Officer he has flown various aircraft types which includes the Agusta 109, Robinson 66, Bell 206, Schweizer 300 CBi
Flight Lieutenant Kabir Usman
Kabir is a graduate of Bristow Academy New Iberia, LA USA. He is a holder of NCAA and US FAA CPL (H) Licenses with Instrument Rating as well as CFI/CFII Ratings. He also has a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. He has flown various aircraft types over the years which shaped his flying experience, some of which

includes the Mi 35P Military Attack Helicopter Gunship, Agusta 109, Robinson 66, Bell 206, Schweizer 300 CBi and Air Beetle aircraft. Flight Lieutenant Kabir Usman is a Flight instructor/combat helicopter pilot in the Nigerian Air Force.

Flight Lieutenant AO Ilogho
Flight Lieutenant Alfred Ilogho is the Operations Officer of IHFS. He is a certified flight and ground instructor as well as a combat helicopter pilot in the Nigerian Air force. He is a holder of a US FAA and NCAA CPL (H) with instrument and night ratings, as well as AGI/IGI, CFI/CFII ratings and lastly a NCAA PPL (Fixed Wing) rating.

He also backed by a professional degree with a B.sc in Mathematics & Computer Science. He has flown several aircraft types, some of which includes the Socata TB-9, Schweizer 300CBi, Robinson 66, Agusta 109E, Agusta 109LUH and the Aerospatiale 332 B1/L1 Super Puma.

Flight Lieutenant Kelechi Nwagba
Flight Lieutenant Kelechi Nwagba doubles as a Flight Instructor and Assistant Chief Ground Instuctor at IHFS, Enugu. He is a helicopter pilot in the Nigerian Air Foce and holds a B.Eng Mechanical Engineering. He also holds a Commercial Pilot License with Instrument/Night ratings, Certified Flight Instructor License, Private Pilot License (airplane) and Advanced Ground Instructor Certificate.

Licenses, ratings and certificates held were issued by the Nigerian and USA aviation authorities. Aircraft flown include Schweizer 300cbi, Bell 206, A109LUH, A109E, R66 and Socata TB9.

Flight Lieutenant Israel Nnamdi Godwin
Flight Lieutenant Israel Nnamdi Godwin is a helicopter flight instructor in the Nigerian air force. He is a graduate of Bristow Academy United State and holds both NCAA and FAA flight instructor licenses. The aircraft types he has flown includes Schwerzer 300 CBi, Bell 206, Agusta 109LUH, Agusta 109E, Robinson 66 as well as Robinson 44 helicopters. He has participated in various aviation related courses and programmes

amongst which are ICAO Safety Management systems courses and instructional technique course. Flight Lieutenant Godwin is a very accommodating instructor and loves to teach. He is sensitive to the needs of his students. He has also participated in the care in leadership course at Amport House Hampshire Untied kingdom, he holds a B. Sc (Hons) in Biological Sciences.

Flying Officer Jide Temitope Longe
Flying Officer Jide Temitope Longe is a Ground Instructor and an experienced Aeronautical Meteorologist. He is a trained aviation meteorologist from Nigerian Meteorological Agency and holds B.Tech Meteorology.
